The TROP research group focuses on tissue regeneration (influencing the cellular ecosystem) and tissue engineering. Tissue regeneration encompasses the entire spectrum of insights into the fundamental principles of basic and complex wound healing, including tissue transplantation (skin, fat, cartilage, bone) through to treatments designed to influence and improve tissue survival and healing under normal and pathological conditions. Tissue engineering focuses on building 3D living human tissues in a laboratory environment (bioreactors) using 3D bioprinters.
