Members of our department are affiliated with the GONAT (translational research on gonadal development and action) research group. This reserach focuses on gonadal development, variations of sexual development, in particular genetic causes of atypical sexual development, the occurrence of gonadal germ cell cancer in dysgenetic gonads, the long-term medical and psychological outcomes of variations of sex development and the effects of gonadal hormone treatment in the context of transgender youth.
