The Emergency Department at UZ Gent focuses on optimizing acute care processes within the 'Research & Innovation' domain, with key areas including triage, crowding management, and innovative technologies for diagnostics and treatment. We conduct ongoing research on resuscitation quality, toxicology, PK/PD in older adults, ECMO, and trauma care. Through groundbreaking (international) collaborations, we aim to make a lasting impact on the quality of acute care, both clinically and scientifically.
