Department Otorhinolaryngology, head and neck surgery

The Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery focuses on the nose and sinuses, ears and balance, the throat and voice, as well as benign and malignant conditions of the head and neck region.

Research within the ENT department at UZ Gent focuses on innovative diagnostics and treatments for hearing, voice, balance, and nasal disorders, including allergies, chronic rhinosinusitis, and tumors of the sinuses and skull base. Through multidisciplinary research and collaboration with partners, we develop advanced cochlear implants, speech therapy, and personalized treatments for rhinitis, sinusitis, and balance disorders. Our focus is on patient-centered innovation, where science and clinical practice come together to improve quality of life.
