Department of Geriatrics

The Department of Geriatrics focusses on improving the Well-being of Institutionalized Older People and their Caregivers. 

It encompasses (1) clinical research into the lived experiences of frail older persons and their caregivers (2) translational research into the ageing muscle (also called sarcopenia) and (3) interventions to improve well-being (functional, mobility, psycho-social) and goal-concordant care. 

Our main strengths are the strong link with bedside geriatric practice and interprofessional/transmural collaboration to reinforce a holistic patient view.
